Responsibilities

INSTRUMENT AND VALVE SERVICES Position Description POSITION: Valve Technician Level I ********************************************************************************************************

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: Responsible for teardown, evaluation, assembly/mounting, calibration, diagnostics, testing and inspection of all brands of control valves and instruments and for completion of associated paperwork and system transactions. Execution of this responsibility will take place in the local service center or at the customer site. Perform valve diagnostics using Flowscanner or AMS Valvelink. Responsibility includes product surface preparation, inventory control & procurement, receiving & shipping of customer product and mobilization/demobilization for field work. Also responsible for relaying information to the sales channel/Local Business Partner and for communicating with customers in the field. Focus on building and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with product divisions and local business partner. This position requires travel to & from customer sites and/or other service centers and may involve extensive overtime both in the field as well as the local service center.

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: 1. Teardown, evaluation, assembly/mounting, calibration, diagnostics, testing and inspection of all Fisher control valves and instruments per Fisher Certified Repair procedure.

2. Documentation of repair / testing / assembly activities – photographs of as received product & as shipped product, cause of failure, actions taken, parts used, labor hours, etc per Fisher Certified Repair procedure.

3. Participation in field service calls, as required, at customer sites per IVS Field Service Specification. May require overnight stays.

4. Customer communication – technical assistance, troubleshooting, quoting / disposition of repairs.

5. Assembly of new Fisher products per Fisher Manufacturing Specifications

6. Various inventory control responsibilities - stocking shelves, pulling parts, cycle counting, proper documentation of inventory transactions.

7. Responsible for personal safety and the safety of those around you.

8. Adherence to all safety, quality, and company policies and regulations.

9. Participation and involvement in Safety & Quality programs.

10. Maintain excellent housekeeping standards.

11. Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
  • Mechanical related Associates degree a plus.
  • Experience in the process control industry is a plus.
  • Knowledge of analyzing, evaluating, diagnosing, and resolving equipment and process related problems is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer relations skills are a must.
  • Personal Computer experience strongly preferred
