The Technology Commercialization Manager, a two-year grant-funded position, will manage utilization of University resources to advance the economic well-being of Indiana and the region by developing commercialization of various technologies, encouraging entrepreneurship and helping USI students and faculty bring product ideas to the market. There are two primary initiatives to accomplish these goals, the Technology Commercialization Academy and the Eagle Innovation Accelerator.

Master’s degree in community or economic development, economics, business, public administration or related field required. Doctorate-level degree preferred. Demonstrated experience with entrepreneurial/commercialization activities, especially related to developing, facilitating, and implementing partnerships with multiple internal and external stakeholders required. Demonstrated proficiency with conceptualization, design, and implementation of various projects and programs. Demonstrated high-level research and analytical skills. Excellent communication skills and public presentation skills. Must interact effectively with students, all levels of University faculty and staff, and members of the regional business and economic development communities. Strong administrative skills including budget and financial management, resource management and grant management; excellent attention to detail. Ability to convene and facilitate stakeholders leading to results. Strong interpersonal skills. Highly organized, self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit.

Standard work hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Irregular or extended hours will be required to meet administrative responsibilities. Significant regional travel is required to engage with various external stakeholders on economic development related projects. Occasional intrastate and national travel required.
