The purpose of this position is to administer and oversee the daily operations and management of the Sandy Creek Day Camp Teen Camp.
Sandy Creek Day Camp staff spends the day outside (weather permitting) conducting a variety of outdoor and environmental education programs. Activities include hiking, live animal experiences, games, crafts, canoeing, archery and more.
The Leisure Services Department operates eight day camps: East Athens, Lay Park, Sandy Creek, Memorial Park, Teens in Action, Parkview, Rocksprings and Project START. Most camps begin on June 3. The earlier date is shown to indicate pre-planning and training time. All camps run for eight consecutive weeks with the exception of Sandy Creek, Teens in Action and Project START. Sandy Creek and Project START begin employee training on May 28 and day camp begins June 3. Teens in Action camp begins employee training on May 28 and camp begins on June 10. Day Camp operational hours are 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily.
ALL DAY CAMP STAFF ARE REQUIRED TO BE FIRST AID AND CPR CERTIFIED BEFORE CAMP STARTS (training will be provided) and all staff, upon hire are required to attend one orientation training May 11 or May 13, 2013.
This is a non-merit position (at-will) and serves at the discretion of the Department Director.

APPROXIMATE WORK DATES: May 28 - July 19, 2013 May have to work on religious holidays
