The Telecommunications Analyst – VMS is primarily responsible for the administration of MAC’s Video Management System (VMS) which consists of approximately 2000 digitally recorded cameras. This position is involved with the daily management of the video system, assigning system access and rights to users, responding to trouble tickets, maintaining system documentation, providing basic user training, coordinating system upgrades, and assisting with system testing and monitoring. In addition, this position involves some general telecommunications work, including wireless network troubleshooting, equipment replacement, and system administration.
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday; Flexible start time (between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m.); Occasional evening/weekend hours due to implementations/upgrades or on-call duties.

Develop and manage processes involved in maintaining a large enterprise digital video system
Assign VMS access and provide training to peers and system users
Develop policies related to VMS use
Complete and maintain VMS documentation following change management procedures and documentation for system modifications
Manage tasks and/or projects as directed
Conduct presentations to various groups related to the VMS System
Assist in generating Requests for Proposal as directed
Respond to system support calls 24 x 7
Act as a liaison between MAC staff and contractors to ensure VMS related projects and tasks are completed accurately and timely
Assist with researching solutions and troubleshooting challenges; assist with solution implementation

Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Network Communications, Computer Science, or a related field
In lieu of the Bachelor’s degree, a two-year degree and four years of experience in an IT related field
In lieu of a degree, a minimum of five years of experience in an IT or VMS related field
Experience with digital video management system hardware such as encoders, analog cameras, IP cameras, servers and end user workstations
Working Knowledge of LAN/WAN/Wireless networks
Demonstrated analytical capability and troubleshooting skills
Ability to interpret and work from blueprints, as built, and technical documents
Experience with system documentation and design
Intermediate experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
Basic experience with Microsoft Outlook and Visio
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to manage resources in a team environment
Ability and willingness to work after hours to complete sensitive IT system implementations and provide emergency IT support
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Valid state-issued driver’s license
Ability to successfully pass a comprehensive background check Desirable Requirements
Experience in digital video system design, deployment and support including: High level of understanding of DVMS software, compression techniques, and enterprise deployment
High level understanding of storage array systems (SAN, network and direct attached)
Familiarity with Brocade and Cisco network routing protocols and communication hierarchy
Experience with project management
Familiarity with Aruba Networks hardware and protocols
Familiarity with command and control system components and the types of system integration typically involved within these environments
Knowledge of the principles/protocols behind network communication and network security MAC Core Competency Requirements
