Plans, designs, implements and maintains telecommunications systems. Analyzes user needs and recommends solutions to hardware/software systems.
Duties and Responsibilities
Performs complex telecommunications network analysis, design, implementation and maintenance for the organization.
Performs engineering studies to determine requirements, long-range engineering plans and designs of telecommunication systems.
Prepares detailed specifications and flowcharts for implementation of new systems.
Coordinates relocations and installations.
Supports one or more of the following: paging, LAN/WAN, VRU, voice mail, cellular and phone systems and other telecom systems as necessary.
Identifies and corrects complex system/network problems.
Prepares and presents studies and briefings to customers.
Participates in the preparation of technical proposals.
Provides guidance to less experienced Telecommunications Engineers/Analysts.
Education and Experience
Bachelor¿s degree in related discipline plus at least 5 years of directly related experience or a Master¿s degree and 3 years of experience.
In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 10 years applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by
market survey data.

Excellent analytical skills.
Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
JITC & ATEC experience preferred.
Applicant must hold at least a secret clearance and be eligible to obtain a TS clearance after employment.
