The Telemetry Technician observes monitors for abnormalities in heart rate and rhythm equipment, malfunction, and accurately documents and communicates heart rhythms.Observes for oxygen saturation abnormalities and Non-Invasive Blood Pressure (NIBP) monitoring. He/she accurately documents and communicates low saturations and blood pressure values outside the parameters set by the physician(s).Serves as shift leader as assigned.Has teaching responsibilities in the Telemetry class and on-going developmental days.Assists in on-going Quality Assurance activities.Ensures safe and competent care of monitored patients.
Knowledge and Skills
High School Diploma or GED
Years of Experience:
Previous patient care experience required.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
Successful completion of hospital arrhythmia class and arrhythmia test. Successful completion of CMU orientation and Skills Check List.
