Selected candidate will be responsible for culturing leukemia cells and performing kinome analysis by mass spectrometry. This individual will assist and carryout experiments testing experimental therapeutics on leukemia cells. This will include western blotting for candidate proteins, cell viability and death assays and dose response determinations. In addition, the individual will assist with other related cancer research projects which include culturing additional cancer cell lines and curating all samples. Lastly, this position will be required to maintain a notebook of all the research activities as well as assist with the general lab functions (autoclaving, tissue culture hood and incubator maintenance).
Prefer a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Genetics, Biochemistry, and Pharmacology or related field would be ideal. Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. The ideal candidate will possess experience with leukemia cell growth and mass spectrometry. Protein kinases and signal transduction is strongly desired. Prefer a candidate with excellent lab skills as well the ability to interact and train junior members of the lab. Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) are required.
