TEST ENGINEER – DEFENSE – Cumberland MD

ATK has an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Test Engineer at our Manufacturing Center of Excellence near Cumberland, MD.
Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to
Oversee and/or conduct all environmental qualification and test activities including cannon, sled and flight tests
Identify test parameters based on specifications and Mil Standards
Interface with the division Design Engineering function and external customers to develop test requirements
Partner with Quality and Safety to ensure test methods and Detailed Operating Procedures(DOPs) meet all applicable requirements and regulations
Setup of mechanical hardware, instrumentation, and controls, preparation of test articles, programming equipment, and x-ray of test articles
Prepare technical documentation, including DOPs and test reports
Support Test Readiness Reviews
Manage cost and schedule for test programs
Provide focal point of contact for specific AW and external customer programs
Identify, specify, and implement facility improvements to meet requirements and support Continuous Improvement initiatives
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (aerospace, mechanical, or electrical engineering or equivalent)
3-5 years of related engineering experience. Work experience with explosives and/or munition systems strongly desired
Workplace will include areas where explosives, x-ray systems, chemicals, and/or various noise levels may be encountered. Must have a high awareness and discipline for the safety of personnel and equipment, and must be able utilize a variety of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently and organize/prioritize job assignments and tasks
Strongly Preferred
Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, as well as the ability to present data and information to large audiences
Familiarity with AS9100 and CMMI Level 3 standard practices, as well as Earned Value Management System (EVMS).
Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, rapidly changing, short turn-around environment
Occasional travel may be required
Able to obtain a Secret Clearance which requires US Citizenship as a pre-requisite
