Perform one or more of the following tasks: test, assembly, calibration, modification, rework, debug, preventative maintenance, basic data analysis, evaluation of experimental apparatus, circuits components, prototypes, and processes to meet engineering, production or quality goals consistent with operating procedures and practices.
Observe, assimilate and perform assigned elements of these tasks:
Construct or modify circuits, models, and sub-assemblies or apparatus to assist in executing test procedures in prototype or development processes from instructions.
Interpret rather complex sketches, schematics, charts, graphs, blue prints, block, and wiring diagrams prior to testing and implementing operation procedures.
Maintains logs, charts and graphs for engineering and scientific analysis, evaluation and trend analysis.
Prepare routine engineering change documents. May assist higher-level technicians in developing information and writing complex changes.
Test, troubleshoot and debug computers, electronic and electromechanical modules and assemblies to ensure conformity with engineering performance specification using standard and special equipment.
Analyze circuitry and components of malfunctioning assemblies to locate causes using test equipment and schematics, circuit list and other source data.
Compile written reports of tests and work performed.
May participate in field installations of systems, modules or other company products.
May perform other related duties as required.
Education / Certification:
Associate's degree or certificate from an accredited technical or military electronics program or recognized school.
Knowledge / Experience:
Academic knowledge of electronics, mechanical, solid state technology, microprocessor and computer technology sufficient to function in fields of electronic technology including industrial, solid state, mechanical, digital, robotics, microprocessors and computers. Demonstrated ability to comprehend schematics, logic drawings, layouts, and wire lists and prints.
Usually functions in a production factory environment or engineering laboratory with exposure to noise from machines, which may require certain protective equipment such as goggles and ear plugs. May lift medium weights. Must have color vision.
Equipment & Tools:
Academic or working knowledge of these types of equipment:
Oscilloscopes, digital meters, micrometers, calipers, terminals, assorted gauges, volt ohm meters, logic analyzers and assorted mechanical, chemical or electronic testing equipment, microcomputers and related utilities and microcomputer controlled test equipment.
Due to the nature of our work this position requires the
ability to obtain a Department of Defense security clearance
. You must be able to travel on occasion. This position may require overtime, weekend, holiday, and/or non-standard hours.
This position may be filled at a higher grade based on the successful applicants skills, education and experience.
