The primary responsibilities of the District Manager are to manage a group of The North Face stores to meet the objectives and goals of The North Face Direct to Consumer division and enhance The North Face brand image. Sets Store Management objectives, follows directives from Corporate headquarters, and ensures adherence to customer service standards, as outlined in the SUMMIT program, enforces Company policies and procedures, and ensures that Store Managers are properly training their staff to meet expectations set by the Direct to Consumer division. Establish control-related standards and procedures.

Qualifications
Education/Experience:
Years of Related Professional Experience: 8+.
Bachelors Degree from related field. Progressively responsible retail store management experience in specialty and/or chain store retailing.

Skills:
Excellent communication, motivation and management skills.
Ability to manage the competing concerns of a dynamic Retail environment
through strong decision-making and partnering skills.

Key Responsibilities 1. Human Resources Management: Recruits, trains and coaches. Monitors the training and performance of Store Management in assigned district. Sets and maintains the standards for recruiting ensuring that store employees are qualified and perform to company standards, specifically customer service requirements. - Provides or recommends training in specific areas where appropriate. Schedules visits with stores and maintains relationships with employees at all levels reinforcing the 'open door' management philosophy. Oversees the annual appraisal process and Personal Development Plans and provides direction to the Store Manager. Partners with the HR dept as needed. 2. Sales/Profitability and Merchandising: Maximizes the net profit of stores by providing support and direction towards achieving objectives in sales, expenses, and inventory shortage. Partners with Retail Merchandising, Operations, and Visual Merchandising teams to drive business and execute division strategy. Provides regular feedback regarding sales performance and performs regular audits of store performance against objectives and recommend changes when necessary. Ensures the visual presentation and merchandising aspects of the stores are consistent with division and company standards. Ensures proper training is in place to develop employees with visual and merchandising expertise in each store location. Provides regular constructive feedback to visual merchandising teams regarding visual presentation in the stores. Enforces merchandising, operational and visual direction as directed by corp departments. Provides regular feedback regarding execution of divisional direction. 3. Operations: Serves as liaision between the field organization and corp office. Communicates with Store Management on a regular basis (weekly conf calls, daily as needed) and provides a clear direction regarding retail business issues. Maintains consistent operational standards throughout all stores by performing regular audits and communciating performance to Store Management. Ensures adherence to policy and procedures, loss prevention; inventory control standards, store maintenance, human resources, and safety issues. Takes immediate action to correct areas of non-compliance.
4. Store Opening/Remodels: Manages the process for a store opening in designated areas. Ensures that appropriate resources have been identified and are in place to meet targeted objectives, working with corp partners. Participates in new store site selection and store layout as needed.
5. Performs other duties as assigned. 4. Merchandising: Ensures the visual presentation and merchandising aspects of the stores are consistent with division and Company standards. Ensures proper training is in place to develop employees with visual and merchandising expertise in each store location. Provides regular constructive feedback to visual merchandising teams regarding visual presentation in the stores. - Enforces merchandising, operational and visual direction as directed by corporate departments. Provides regular feedback regarding execution of divisional direction. - Communicates with Store Management on a regular basis and provides a clear direction regarding retail business issues and Company objectives.
5. Performs other duties as assigned.
