The Carolina Center for
Behavioral Health is located in Greer and convenient to Greenville
and areas throughout Upstate, SC. Our facility specializes in
psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment for adolescents, adults
and senior adults. To meet the diverse needs of the community, an
array of inpatient, partial hospitalization, and outpatient programs
focused on mental health and substance abuse treatments are
To provide quality case management
psychotherapeutic services to adult, and/or adolescent psychiatric
patient populations (age range approximately 12 and up) and their
families, spouse, significant other. To serve as a member of
interdisciplinary team supporting the organization’s treatment
program and philosophy and assure the deliverance of quality
treatment to adult, and/or adolescent patients and their families.

This is a 32 hour a week position. Will work on
both geriatric units.
Qualifications at Entry:
Prior experience in inpatient setting
preferred; Written and verbal communication skills, skills in case
management, time management, and crisis intervention common to acute
psychotic as well as non-violent crises intervention practice.
Knowledge of acute adult and/or child psychological disorders;
advanced principles of abnormal psychology/ familiarity with follow
up resource services , skills in documenting marital, family and
group therapy. Knowledge of 12 step recovery program; basic knowledge
of detoxification assessment and treatment procedures; familiarity
with disease concept of addiction treatment; ability to identify
signs of withdrawal from major classes of abused substances and
ability to apply this knowledge to the treatment of chemically
dependent patients. Skills in maintaining information as highly
confidential. Must demonstrate the ability to treat other age
populations as needed or have the capacity to develop skills through
the organization’s cross-training, orientation program. In the
absence of these qualifications upon hire, must demonstrate ability
to learn these concepts and develop these skills within reasonable
time frame. Ability to clearly summarize pertinent clinical
information via written correspondence and medical records
Must be able to set therapeutic limits and
maintain distance with clients. Maintains therapeutic boundaries with
patients during treatment and following discharge. Must be able to
address and prioritize multiple task demands within established time
Master's degree in social work, psychology, or
mental health counseling, with appropriate licensure preferred;
experience in psychiatric hospital setting preferred; range of
experience within the continuum of care preferred (e.g. inpatient,
outpatient, or IOP, partial).
