TITLE: Title I Student Interventionist (Math) REVISED 8/20/13

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

LOCATION: Stevenson Middle School

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Other duties may be assigned

Provide rigorous and relevant lessons that support direct instruction

Provide instruction to at-risk students

Differentiate instruction based upon the learning needs of all students

Motivate and engage students through lessons

Frequently review and analyze data to make decisions about student deficits in math/literacy (ELA)

Communicate effectively with school personnel, parents and students (especially those considered the most at risk)

Learn and apply the latest research as it relates to best practice

Utilize technology in various forms with the intent of enhancing instruction

Integrate effective math/literacy strategies for all learners

Regular and predictable attendance

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE :
Must meet the standards of a Highly Qualified Secondary teacher as defined by the No Child Left Behind Act

3 years teaching experience (preferred)

Must be eligible to work in the United States

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
Demonstrated leadership skills

Demonstrated ability to work with at-risk students in small groups

Demonstrated history of improved student performance

Demonstrated ability to motivate and engage students

Demonstrated understanding of technology as an instructional tool

Must be self directed and highly motivated

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, this employee is frequently required to move about inside the building and in and out of classrooms. The employee will be required to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery. At times, this employee may engage in physical management with students in order to maintain a safe environment for students and others. This employee may need to travel to different work locations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT : The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The employee is frequently required to interact with students, staff and occasionally with the public. At times, the employee may be directly responsible for the safety and well-being of students.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT :
Salary Range: $16.68/hr

Performance of this job will be evaluated by the program’s supervisor.
