Tool Designer for the Sample/Prototype Department. This position will design and develop tooling used in the manufacture of stamped components per product blueprints and engineering specifications.
Description of main tasks
Design and develop tooling, gauged, jigs and fixtures to meet requirements of manufacturing processes.
Manage tooling projects from beginning to end.
Provide support to the manufacturing floor during the product development process.
Manage and control engineering documentation.
Participates in design review meetings with engineering.
Associate degree in a related technical field or successful completion of a 3 year technical apprenticeship or journeyman’s card certification.
Ability to make and develop the tooling being designed.
Manual lathe, mill, drill, and surface grinder experience.
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Flexibility and creativity required.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
