Richard Bland College of the College of William & Mary is currently accepting applications for the position of Head Men's and Women's Track and Field/Cross Country Coach. Richard Bland College competes as a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). The applicant will be responsible for the successful recruitment of qualified student-athletes, directing all aspects of coaching staff including but not limited to practice and game competitions. Candidate must engage in personal, academic, and athletic development of student-athletes and is responsible for the program's compliance with NJCAA regulations.
This position reports directly to the Director of Athletics , and the major responsibilities include:
- The training, scheduling, and supervising of student-athletes for the entire academic year including off-season recruiting
- Developing and implementing a comprehensive recruiting program
- Overseeing of the scheduling and team travel arrangements
- Implementation of programs to ensure academic and program integrity, retention and graduation of student athletes

Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- 3+ years of experience coaching at a competitive level (High School or College)
- strong interpersonal skills relevant to faculty, staff and students
- an understanding of and commitment to the Richard Bland College mission and vision

Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the minimum qualifications, the top-rated candidates will have the following:
- a master's degree in Sports Management or a relevant discipline
- Experience at the collegiate level including experience in the development and administration of academic progress of student athletes
- Background and experience working within a collegiate recreation and/or athletic department
- Demonstrated record of coaching excellence, service, and leadership
