Demand Planning and Sales Forecasting
Sales Forecasting activities associated with customers and products
Create and maintain forecast models for customers, incorporate business intelligence and forecast information gathered from sales, marketing, and other sources such as IRI or other syndicated consumer data
Develop demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function
Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, forecast projections and adjustments, and development statistical forecast models
Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions.
Interact with Sales, marketing, and Customer Service to understand demand forecast drivers
Trade Spending Management
Develop guidelines for trade spending
Receive and manage sales and promotion plans from Sales team to track promotional sales and R&A spending insuring all the promotions for key accounts are captured and manage excessive spending
Evaluate and analyze incremental sales and GP of trade promotions
Provide recommendations on pricing strategies
Provide R&A spending status by tracking sales and open orders
Provide gap analysis(weekly and monthly), weekly sales reports with tracking of R&A spending and shortage information, monthly account P&L reports, etc.
Provide monthly reports on scan data
Provide value-added and actionable selling tolls which incorporate category management principles, consumer learning and strategic brand insights that allow the sales force to achieve distribution objectives
Provide consumption data to Marketing and Sales to identify opportunities and gaps, and to assess impact on category/product group as a whole
Recommend merchandising, assortment, pricing and shelving strategies based on analytics and insight
Update various sales related spreadsheets such as price list, specification
Qualifications/skills for the job:
Some sales, financial and marketing experience.
Mathematical Analytics and Statistical Knowledge, some sales and marketing experience would be helpful. Knows how to use Nielsen and SPINS data. Knows how to extract data from financial systems such as SAP or MAS. Organized, team player, flexible and adaptable to change, ability to multitask and prioritize key tasks, attention to detail
