The objective of the Facilities Management Department shall be to provide a campus environment that is conducive to working and learning through the systematic maintenance, repair, renovation and construction of campus building, facilities and infrastructure.
Assist electrician lead man or supervisor in the maintenance of all University electrical equipment and machinery. Inspects band test electrical lighting, signal, communication and power circuits and equipment. Isolates defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment, using suitable testing instruments with not more than two (2) hours of corrected diagnostic after arriving on job site.
Examines and tests elements of electrical systems to locate obvious faults, such as blown fuses, short circuits, broken wires, loose connections within 1.5 hours after arriving on jobs site with corrective diagnostic.
Replaces faulty switches, sockets, plugs, fuses, insulators and other simple elements of electrical systems, fixtures and appliances to ensure proper operation per trade practice within two (2) hours after receiving goods by finalizing work order requests.
Renews circuits' entirely by isolating and cutting out defective wiring and replacing it with new wiring, or by splicing ends of broken wires. Turn key job completion with no more than 16 man hours total per assign work order task and finalizing work order request. Perform other duties within the purview of the Facilities Management operations as assigned.
High school diploma or GED, 4-6 years experience and journeyman's license
A criminal background check is required.
