Employee will be responsible for conducting fixed pole (stationary), mobile van and portable camera enforcement in Montgomery County via the use of Safe Speed (speed camera) equipment. Duties will include driving Automated Speed Enforcement Vehicles to predetermined locations. Activating and monitoring the speed enforcement mobile equipment. Driving to stationary camera locations across the County in all types of weather, to physically download and setup software on fixed speed camera poles using a laptop. Resolve minor problems encountered during enforcement operations, document daily deployment information, and compile and manipulate data. Assist in unit presentations during community related activities. Collect data on roadways for new enforcement sites, and provide testimony during court cases when needed upon hire. Technicians must successfully complete certification courses on radar and lidar equipment. They must be able to work outdoors and/or in the confined environment of a van or other vehicle, handle power tools and occasionally lift up to forty-five (45 lbs.) Technicians work an 8 hour shift, 40 hours per week. They must be able to work day shift, afternoon shift and weekends. You will work a 40 hour week. The day shift hours are 5:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The evening shift hours are 1:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. We are required by law to download speed camera data seven (7) days a week and our Saturday and Sunday hours are as follows: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. depending on your shift assignment.

Experience: One year of experience working in a position that involved public contact.
Education: Completion of high school or high school certificate of completion recognized in the state of Maryland , or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
License: Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license from applicant's state of residence.
