DESCRIPTION

Responsible for improving the productivity of PRS Muncie employees. Responsible for the effective development, coordination and presentation of training and development programs for all employees. Assess property-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives. Identify and arrange suitable training solutions for employees. Actively search, creatively design and implement effective methods to educate, enhance performance and recognize performance.

DUTIES

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Plan, direct, or coordinate the training and development activities of the organization. Conduct orientation sessions and arrange on-the-job training for new hires. Develop Integration Plan and Process for promoted employees to move from one position to another Develop and administer the annual training plan Ownership of the training matrixes, ensuring they are updated, current and accurate. Responsible for all training records and qualification files Develop testing and evaluation procedures. Conduct or arrange for ongoing technical training and personal development classes for staff members. Confer with management and conduct surveys to identify training needs based on projected production processes, changes, and other factors. Develop and organize training manuals, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials. Plan, develop, and provide training and staff development programs, using knowledge of the effectiveness of methods such as classroom training, demonstrations, on-the-job training, meetings, conferences, and workshops. Analyze training needs to develop new training programs or modify and improve existing programs. Review and evaluate training and apprenticeship programs for compliance with government standards. Train supervisors in techniques and skills for training and dealing with employees. Evaluate external and/or internal instructor performance and the effectiveness of training programs, providing recommendations for improvement. Coordinate established courses with technical and professional courses provided by community schools and designate training procedures. Coordinate and/or establish in house training programs or apprenticeships. Prepare training budget for department and/or organization. Proven ability to lead by example and foster mentoring relationships. Support the recruiting process as required Travel as required Follows safety policies, practices, and ensures departments compliance with safety rules. Other responsibilities as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

QUALIFICATIONS Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of leading, coordinating and directing the training and development functions in a large diverse job shop and/or high volume manufacturing and assembly environments. Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Lean Office and/or Six Sigma. EDUCATIONA bachelor's degree in education, business administration, organizational development or liberal arts or at least five years of teaching equivalent. One of the following Certifications is preferred: Certificate in Personnel Practice (CPP)Certificate in Training Practice (CTP)Professional Development Scheme (PDS).
