The Transportation Assistant (TA) is an employee of CMMC. Under the supervision of an RN, the Transportation Assistant is responsible for the safe transport of patients within the hospital for treatment, diagnostic procedures, and discharges.
The assistant also transports medications and specimens as requested by the clinical staff.
The transporter will utilize the ticket to ride safety initiative. The Transportation Assistant performs duties in accordance with performance standards established for the job and appropriate to the position.
In addition, the Transportation Assistant conducts all job responsibilities according to the

If the Transport Assistant is a
recognized CNA in the Float Pool, there may be times that the Transport Assistant may provide direct and indirect patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse or provider.
Assists patients with activities of daily living, provides for personal care, emotional support and performs more complex clinical skills under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
The ability to communicate effectively and understand specific instructions is required.
Knowledge of safe body mechanics and the environment of the hospital are required.
Sufficient interpersonal skills to interact with staff and patients are required.
High School graduate or equivalent.
Completion of CNA course- if applicable.
Current CNA certification in the state of
Listing on the
Board of Nursing Nurse Aide Registry.
Current BCLS certificate.
Skills: Basic computer knowledge preferred.
