Reports to the Project Executive and/or the Project Manager. Supervises the field construction of a project, including its organization, planning, and scheduling, in order to complete the work on time, within budget, and to quality specified. Responsible to protect and promote the interest of Turner in all matters.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
-Develop and implement site planning, logistics and procedures for the execution of the works.
-Develop and implement quality assurance and control procedures.
-Ensure the work performed complies with all requirements of the contract documents and specifications.
-Develop and implement work schedules identifying the critical path including the expediting of scheduled critical materials and equipment for their timely delivery to site.
-Coordinate, direct, and monitor the activities of subcontractors, suppliers, direct labor and material.
-Obtain all necessary permits for temporary use and construction purposes.
-Secure all insurance requirements prior to starting the work and maintain current the term of the project.
-Coordinate as required the activities of inspection agencies.
-Direct, train, & evaluate project staff.
-Oversee work of the project accountant.
-Handle job labor relations & maintain EEO compliances.
-Establish and enforce a comprehensive project safety & security program as defined in the company safety program and in accordance with all applicable safety codes and regulations.
-Review and approve all subcontractor and vender payment applications and participate in the timely preparation of monthly payment requisition.
-Perform other duties and take on other responsibilities as required.
Four-year college degree with four years of formal engineering or architectural training and at least eight years of building construction experience required. Or 10+ years of Data Center/Telecom Facilities focused construction experience. Thorough knowledge and understanding of the general and subcontract documents, drawings and specifications, construction means, methods and materials, understanding of line and grade and survey methods, scheduling and cost control procedures, general contract, general conditions, subcontract documents, drawings and specifications - with a strong focus on data center/telecom facilities construction . Knowledge of construction cost control and basic accounting procedures. Computer skills and a familiarity with Microsoft office suite programs. Knowledge of Primavera scheduling desirable. Strong management, leadership and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing. Knowledge of accounting and cost control procedures.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Performing this job requires use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk and hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.
