General Requirements:
The Treasurer / Secretary must have basic bookkeeping skills and familiarity with double entry accounting. Experience and a working knowledge of Quick Books accounting software also required for this position. Must have basic typing and computer skills with experience in office administration and ability to compose letters as directed by the Board of Fire Commissioners. Experience and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required and specialized knowledge of Fire District record keeping software and inputting skills for mandatory reporting of emergency services information to the State of New York is preferred.
Attendance at all meetings of the Board of Fire Commissioners is required (currently 2nd Monday of each month at 7:00 PM) but much of the work of this job is accomplished during regular daytime hours (Approx 15 hour/week). Treasurer/Secretary must be familiar with computers and use of email.
