We are seeking a qualified senior qualified tunnel resident engineer for an assignment on an underground project in New England. The qualified individual will have at least 15 years’ experience serving as a Resident Engineer on underground construction projects with a demonstrated ability to provide client satisfaction and supervise a construction management team.
The candidate must be able to demonstrate and provide references showing the ability to:
Lead and manage a construction management team consisting of inspectors and engineers.
Be responsible for the overall contract administration of several general construction contracts for $100m+ of shaft, tunnel, and interceptor work.
Coordinate third party, owner, designer, and construction GC teams
Resolve and negotiate change orders and claims
Possess technical expertise in a wide range of underground construction and geotechnical techniques and issues in both soil and rock conditions
Ability to interpret construction contract documents and resolve difficult contract issues
Develop clients and business opportunities in underground and water/wastewater markets
Excellent communication skills
Ability and willingness to relocate to the project site
Education Requirement: The successful candidate should be a BS or MS [Engineering / Construction Management preferred] graduate.
