First off, Who are we?
We're OkCupid Labs, the R&D arm of your dear friend,
OkCupid.com. We are 30 employees strong, mostly based in San
Francisco, though there are a few wily folks who work in LA.
What do we do here?
Awesome stuff. Stuff like:
Coming up with brand new ideas for how to connect people in
love, life, work, and beyond
Building MVP's to test our awesome ideas
Scrapping ideas that aren't awesome anymore and starting over
on new things
Taking our products to market, scaling them, refining them, and
watching the cash roll in (or at least we hope!)

Crashpad. It's roommate-finding magic.

What would you do here?
Lead the design of projects from concept to release
Design visual interfaces, user flows, and compelling
Translate complex ideas into elegant, intuitive designs
Work closely with front-end developers, software engineers, and

You'd start out on Opal.io, but you would probably move around
all over this crazy Lab.
How do you land an interview here?
A portfolio of beautiful interface designs that will make us
Proven understanding of interaction design concepts
An excellent sense of typography, layout, and general design
1+ years professional experience with mobile app or mobile site
3+ years professional experience with web design (not including
side projects, but we like those too)
Bonus points if you have:
Fluency in front-end implementation (HTML and CSS)
Adapted responsive design or mobile-first approaches into your
