The Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist II will be capable of applying imaging to include proper machine settings, transducer selections and additional imaging. In addition, being knowledgeable of techniques and patient positioning to produce high quality ultrasound images. Individuals in this position will work closely with a radiologist, but must be able to exercise initiative and independent judgment. The sonographer/ultrasound technologist II must be willing to participate in continuing education programs to further upgrade his/her skills, as well as meet the guidelines of the accreditation standards of the department. The Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist II is able to apply multiple scanning techniques in OB, Vascular, and Abdomen.
Registry by Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) is required.
Registered by the ARRT is preferred.
Multiple ARDMS Credentials preferred
Must be mentally alert and physically active.
Ability to learn new procedures and operate new equipment.
Must have above average knowledge of human anatomy and spatial relationships of body organs and structures.
Ability to work well with radiologists and other individuals.
Ability to correlate ultrasound images to particular body structures so that the radiologist is provided with adequate diagnostic information.
Ability to work quickly and accurately.
