An Evening Supervisor is needed in the Circulation Department of Joyner Library (Academic Library Services). Duties include overseeing departmental activities and transactions (i.e. registering new borrowers, check-outs, renewals, check-ins, placing circulation holds and recalls), supervising student employees, interpreting policy, and solving problems and disputes. This position will be providing services at the desk, making decisions that affect the immediate borrowing privileges of patrons, accepting payments for fines and fees, assist the Reserve Manager to process reserves, maintain equipment, process requests for books for the place hold service, maintain tag logs an statistics associated with student accounts and other duties as assigned.
Normal work schedule is full-time, Sunday-Thursday, 5:00pm-2:00am. (Hours will be altered during summer months and university breaks.)

Required: Knowledge of library systems, policies, and procedures gained from work experience in a library; demonstrated ability with Microsoft Office software; experience in the use of an integrated library system; ability to analyze and use standard library methods and principles; ability to assign, supervise, and review the work of student employees; ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form; and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with library users and library personnel.
Preferred: completion of a Bachelor's degree and Circulation experience in an academic library.
High school diploma or equivalency and two years of experience in library services, office support, or related field; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

This position is subject to the Career Banding Salary Administration Plan. If candidates are not identified at the Journey level, management may consider candidates at a lower competency level.
