Major Provider of consumer services is seeking Unix/Linux Support Engineer to provide troubleshooting and operational support in a large enterprise environment.
Plan and manage tasks to create, revise, and implement automation solutions for infrastructure production control processing monitoring and alerting, including requirements definition, Scripting/programming, and testing. Manage/lead effort to determine the originating factors for a given incident, and develop and communicate recommendations for preventing repetition to key stakeholders. Lead incident trending and analysis work across multiple technologies to identify potential problems and drive those recommendations to resolution. Provide senior leadership with problem management communication related to problem activity. Ensure the execution of day-to-day procedural activities, which may include recovery support to the rest of Operations and includes communication status updates to various support teams based on published documentation. Facilitate and oversee the implementation of technical and administrative changes
Advanced knowledge of Solaris Operating System versions 10,11 Advanced knowledge of Solaris Containers/Zones Advanced knowledge of ZFS Advanced knowledge Sun Cluster VERITAS (Cluster Services, File system, Volume manager ) Linux Red Hat 5.7 or Oracle Linux 5.6, 6.X Oracle Hardware knowledge UCS hardware knowledge UNIX, Solaris, Linux Redhat. Troubleshooting and support experience. Must be out of a large enterprise environment. Bachelors Degree 5-7 years. experience with UNIX/Linux
