As a Engineer, your primary duty involves troubleshooting of production systems as well as deployment of new middleware infrastructure.
Provide middleware support for project deployment, production troubleshooting and performance analysis of production systems.
Frequently anticipates problems and analyzes ways to mitigate the risk
Articulates the business value and impact of advanced technical and non-technical information and understands when to escalate issues
Provides effective production support including accurate problem identification, ticket documentation and customer/vendor dialogue
Documents small-to medium-scale projects and delivers presentations with minimal supervision
Dissects complex situations and refocuses on critical technology tasks
Must have a high degree of technical expertise/professional mastery to recommend process improvements
Is often consulted by peers and seen as the informal leader on tactical problems
Strong TCP/IP networking background including network load-balancers, firewalls, WAF, and DNS
Minimum of five years of Middleware Systems Administration experience including performance analysis and tuning
Experience with troubleshooting, installing, configuring, tuning, maintaining, and upgrading several of the following software packages: Apache, Tomcat, Proxy servers, Filenet, WebLogic, WAF,MQ
Familiar with authentication products such as Netegrity SiteMinder, LDAP, and SSL
Proficient with Perl, Python, or bash shell
Proficient with Unix file permissions, local, and remote authentication / authorization, with respect to understanding how local application deployments utilize system authentication and authorization mechanisms
Proficient with web service design, technologies and protocols including; SSL, http, DNS, Load Balancing, Load Testing, Performance Tuning, TCP/IP
Must be a customer service oriented team player with strong verbal/written communication and excellent problem solving skills
Knowledge of HTML / SQL is a plus
Advanced understanding of line of business technology drivers and their impact on architecture design
Advanced understanding of performance and monitoring
Advanced understanding of best practices and company policies
Advanced troubleshooting skills
Proficient in multiple business disciplines/functions
