Auxiliary & Business Services (A&BS) at Penn State is looking for a Recruiting Specialist to join its Human Resources team. Responsibilities include managing all aspects of the hiring process for all part-time/non-benefit eligible employees in Hospitality Services to include recruiting and advertising, screening applicants, interviewing, on-boarding and scheduling training. The Recruiting Specialist will work closely with hiring managers to prepare in advance for busy seasons and to ensure that their staffing needs are consistently being met. This position will post part-time/non-benefit eligible job vacancies for all of A&BS and provide training and support to hiring managers for the application database. The Recruiting Specialist will be the in-house Predictive Index (PI) expert and find ways to use PI to strategically develop teams, identify development opportunities, and evaluate job profiles. Additionally, the Recruiting Specialist will build and manage a robust internship program by partnering strategically with local schools and their hospitality programs and develop marketing and promotional tools to promote the program. This position will also be responsible for providing guidance to employees and management on human resources policies and will review programs, policies and/or practices to ensure compliance with laws, regulations and practices. Additional responsibilities include developing procedures and creating recruitment plans and other HR metrics to evaluate areas for improvement, including compensation. Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience in the hospitality field is highly preferred. Must demonstrate: ability to work cooperatively with various levels of staff, management and outside agencies; outstanding customer service orientation; excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent analytical, judgment, and organization skills; ability to manage multiple projects; and, ability to work with a variety of cultures and backgrounds.
