University Scholarship Coordinator - Internal Search
** This position is only open to current USU employees ** 1) Oversee the administration of USU scholarship programs, particularly in the Office of Admissions. 2) Responsible for recommending policies and procedures related to all scholarship issues for all USU campuses. 3) Reconcile all scholarship expenditures to approved budgets. 4) Liaison with USU-Eastern, RCDE, Athletics and other departments on all scholarship issues. 5) Assist the Executive Director and other administrators on projects as needed.
1) Analyze scholarship awards. 2) Resolve issues related to scholarships. 3) Communicate with Admissions regularly on budget status. 4) Recommend policies and procedures related to scholarship issues. 5) Maintain relationships with personnel in USU-Eastern, Athletics, Budget Office, Admissions, Graduate School, RCDE, and Financial Aid. 6) Create management reports, including reports that compare budgeted scholarships to actual usage. 7) Scrutinize current processes for entering and tracking scholarship awards, and recommend changes. 8) Create/improve process related to the timely posting of awards, and insuring that acceptances processed timely. 9) Assist Executive Director in improving coordination of award packages between appropriate offices. 10) Serve as lead for appeals process. 11) Communicate with students as needed. 12) Support Admissions in administration of university agreements (i.e. Miss Cache Valley). 13) Provide leadership in planning for new award approaches.
Experience: 1) 3 years' USU experience in budget, financial management, planning, or operations 2) Demonstrated skill in developing, analyzing and implementing effective and innovative budget, financial or administrative strategies 3) Experience working with students Skills: 1. Effective verbal and written communication skills 2. Working knowledge of business software 3. Ability to analyze data 4. Ability to work independently and take initiative, as well as work in a team-oriented environment 5. Ability to sustain productive, mutually respectful and collaborative interpersonal working relationships 6. Enthusiasm for USU 7. Ability to use Banner system
1. Bachelor's degree strongly preferred, but may be substituted with four years' additional work experience 2. Demonstrated understanding of budgets 3. Demonstrated understanding of scholarship administration
Office Environment: Employees are protected from weather conditions or contaminants, but not necessarily occasional temperature changes.
