NOTE THIS IS AN ENTRY LEVEL POSITION WITH SIGNIFICANT TRAVEL SALARY IS SET ACCORDINGLY Current Need The Upgrade Specialist will be responsible for all installation and technical elements of upgrading ConnectRx and other MAI products at customer sites These elements include delivery of scheduled softwarehardware upgrades provide onsite support for upgrades troubleshooting hardwaresoftware upgrade issues analyzing preupgrade customer data communicating issues shared by customers during the upgrade process to appropriate parties including Software Development Product Support and Project Management followup with customers for a defined period following the upgrades participate in beta upgrade process communicate the upgrade process to the customer to ensure an understanding of new release functionality transferring files and applying hot fixes to sites as requested by the Application Release Manager electronically documenting software versions The Upgrade Specialist will work on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations Position Description Must travel to customer sites approximately 70 of work time Coordinate hardwaresoftware upgrades with customer sites and project management according to priorities set by Application Release Manager Implement hardwaresoftware upgrades both remotely and onsite at customer facilities Meet all upgrade downtime requirements Perform various installationconfiguration tasks for PC and server replacementupgrades including hard drive replacements memory upgrades peripheral device replacements etc Manage multiple upgrade projects concurrently Provide direction and guidance to secondary upgrade resources used to assist with onsite upgrade deployment Coordinate distribution of software release notes project plans and associated product documentation for systemwide software upgrades Troubleshoot level one pre and postupgrade challenges including product troubleshooting verification of software registry review of appropriate installation files and database logins Troubleshoot computer networking challenges including active directory and domain administration Execute predefined database scripts and interpret results for appropriate action Develop repeatable upgrade deployment processes to support new software releases and related team needs Document software versions as upgrades occur and challenges encountered in the upgrade process Demonstrates the McKesson ICARE Shared Principles Must be fiscally responsible for all business related expenses and able to obtain and maintain a corporate issued credit card Minimum Requirements 2+ years field support engineering experience Additional Knowledge Skills REQUIRED Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows NT 2000 2003 2008 XP and 7 operating systems Workingknowledge of computer networks (TCPIP) and ability to troubleshoot networkrelated issues Demonstrated Project Management skills and the ability to manage multiple and complex tasks Exceptional Customer Service skills Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of technology managers and users DESIRED Detailed knowledge of computer databases Microsoft SQL Server 20002008 experience preferred Education BS degree or equivalent experience in electronic system installation
