Lead-self performance activities including but not limited to road construction, heavy earth works, and electrical infrastructure installation. Lead multiple construction management teams to consistently deliver quality wind, solar, and transmission projects safely, on time, and under budget.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure projects are constructed safely and everyone goes home safe.
  • Manage all aspects of the company's self-performance activities and operations to ensure that goals for safety, profitability, and quality are met or exceeded.
  • Ensure projects are staffed appropriately and possess the ability to hire and manage large teams for multiple projects.
  • Manage several projects simultaneously, and plan and execute labor and equipment responsibly and efficiently.
  • Ensure projects are constructed on schedule, under budget, and to high quality.
  • Ensure projects are constructed in compliance with all applicable local and national standards.
  • Encourage environmental stewardship throughout all aspects of the self-performance business and lead by example.
  • Encourage sustainability throughout all aspects of the self-performance business and lead by example.
  • Oversee the technical quality and accuracy of, and adherence to, engineering and design requirements for the projects, and work with the engineering and technical groups ensuring work outputs comply with standards and meets contract requirements.
  • Ensure client satisfaction
  • Accurately estimate project costs and maintain reports of cost control, cash flow, and profit forecasting.
  • Manage owned and leased equipment fleet.
  • Implement strategic planning and project management of future projects and development of the self-performance business.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and standards.
  • Requirements:

  • Minimum 10-15 years of proven experience that includes a proven track record of managing large capital-industrial/renewable construction projects.
  • Previous experience with estimating and cost control software Heavyjob and Heavybid.
  • Familiarity with business development.
  • Experience with creation, use, and interpretation of Mass Haul Diagrams.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Education:

    BS Engineering degree in construction related areas such as Civil, Structural, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and /or Business Degree (M.B.A. preferred)
