Position: VP/SVP, Mobclix
Location: San Francisco or Palo Alto, CA

The VP/SVP, Mobclix is a newly created high visibility, high impact leadership position. This is a unique opportunity to shape and own revenue for the most dominant part of Velti’s advertising business. This individual will lead business development and account management activities at Mobclix, a leading mobile advertising exchange. The candidate must be able to strategically utilize and leverage industry and product knowledge as well as existing strategic relationships to close revenue by identifying, developing, managing and closing opportunities. The candidate will have oversight of both supply and demand efforts, as well as ownership for delivery of new and existing revenue. This position will report to the GM, Advertising and also interface heavily with Chief Revenue Officers in North America, Europe and Asia.

Responsibilities
  • Own creation and delivery of revenue strategy for both supply and demand, including market segmentation
  • Understand tactical delivery components required to match supply/demand and optimize revenue delivery; aggregate and analyze data to drive consensus with internal teams
  • Utilize executive-selling skills to build account relationships at the C/SVP/VP level while engaging tactically at the business executive and staff level (i.e. think and sell strategically, know how to drive results tactically)
  • Direct involvement in high profile pitches and with tier one accounts
  • Develop and maintain relationships with largest customers on supply and demand sides on an ongoing basis
  • Continually work with marketing and product teams on go-to-market strategies; own “Voice of the Customer” to the same entities, including providing competitive marketplace intelligence back to Velti
  • Develop a solid understanding of the basic technical components required to drive revenue across Mobclix
  • Establish and maintain a strong collaborative relationship with technical delivery teams
  • Motivate, measure and lead your own team of experienced managers to success
  • Accurately report the status of sales and delivery activities to executive leadership; ownership of pipeline
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with industry peers and major corporate players necessary for ensuring the company’s continued growth
  • Represent Velti at a senior level externally with clients and at conferences, exhibitions and trade shows as appropriate
  • Operate and perform in an achievement-oriented culture that motivates and rewards both individual and team contributions
  • Budget and quota planning on an annual basis
  • Meet or exceed revenue quota objectives on a quarterly and annual basis
Required Experience & Qualifications
  • Experience developing strategic sales in a solutions-oriented environment; using data to drive revenue
  • Deep commercial experience working with publishers, agencies, ad networks, exchanges, DSPs and SSPs (especially in North America); Strong knowledge of online or mobile media, advertising technology and digital media best practices
  • Strong network of existing relationships (especially in North America)
  • Strength in understanding fairly technical and complex solutions and being able to represent them to customers in an easy-to-understand way; ability to clearly articulate dimensions of competitive differentiation
  • Proven ability to work seamlessly with colleagues from many different disciplines (engineering, product, marketing, legal, finance) and in multiple global locations
  • Communications and presentation skills - excellent oral and written communications skills a must; ability to tailor presentation and content of solutions as appropriate to executive and business focused audiences as well as technical staff
  • Work ethic, attitude and follow-through - commitment to excel and positive attitude combined with energy and enthusiasm; high sense of urgency and strong desire for excellence
  • Proven track record of winning profitable business in a dynamic, creative and/or leading edge technology markets.
  • Ability to drive organizational change by being assertive, not aggressive
  • Demonstrated self-starter / pro-active with ability to open doors and close deals
  • Team building and experience managing teams spanning multiple functions
  • Skilled in consultative / conceptual selling
  • Confident cold-calling senior executives
  • Accustomed to working and travelling in the US and internationally
  • Proven understanding of the dynamics and mechanisms of mobile and digital media
  • Ability to provide customer input into strategic, financial and product planning
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; advanced degree (e.g. MBA) preferred
