The Vice President, Clinical and Operational Effectiveness is responsible for all process and outcomes measurement and improvement work, in collaboration with clinical and operational teams across the High Performing Health System (HPHS) continuum. This position is responsible for building and developing an experienced Clinical Operational Effectiveness Team (COET) with strong analytic, performance improvement, and collaboration skills. This position will be responsible for the development, facilitation, and adoption of innovative and cutting edge practices, clinical pathways, clinical guidelines, and evidence-based medicine – in collaboration with clinical experts. Role requires ability to apply Six Sigma skills and expertise for improving operations in a clinical environment. REPORTS TO: Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the High Performing Health System (HPHS) SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: all COET Team members
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Masters Degree required; with a clinical major highly preferred REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE: Five (5) to ten (10) years of relevant healthcare work in Clinical Effectiveness Management and/or Lean leadership Work experience within a progressive health system of significant size and complexity preferred Work experience as a clinician (physician, Nurse, pharmacist, etc.) preferred. MAJOR TASKS, DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 1) Responsible for leading and supporting system-wide clinical and operational analysis and efforts to identify best clinical and operational practices focusing on outcomes and efficiencies. * Collaborate with clinical and operational leadership and all medical staff member to improve clinical and operational outcomes through reduced variation and evidence-based practices. * Collaborate with management and staff to implement structures and processes that efficiently and effectively support the clinical and operational improvement work * Develop critical pathways and work on managing the work that crosses disciplines and sites.2) Responsible for capacity intelligence within and outside HPHS network. * Serve as a resource for accessing appropriate and available sites of care and service along the continuum. 3) Define staff roles, qualifications, and competencies necessary to do the work, including how many of what types of staff/experts will be need for the first cohort of projects. 4) Leader of innovation and change through definition and application of Lean and/or Six Sigma expertise to achieve improvements in clinical operations.
