The Department of Pediatric Dentistry in the College of Dentistry at the University of Illinois at Chicago is seeking a full time Visiting Research Specialist.

Duties:
The research specialist will work on research which focuses on the mechanisms of natural antimicrobial agents in the prevention and control of oral pathogens and their biofilms associated with dental caries and periodontal disease.

Qualifications:
The position requires a B.S. in microbiology, biochemistry or biomedical related field; M.S. or higher degree preferred. Candidates should be skillful in basic microbiology and molecular biology techniques related to study of oral pathogens and fungi. Other experiences preferred are: working with oral microbial biofilms, natural antimicrobial agents, and virulence gene expressions; light, scanning, and confocal microscopy techniques. Knowledge in dentistry and oral diseases strongly encouraged. Skills in Microsoft Office products (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook), and strong verbal and written communication skills in the English language are essential.
