The Liaison/Co-Buyer is responsible for supporting the VandalStore. The position must be able to determine appropriate product mix and order the best value merchandise for all customers; follow open-to-buy plans and meet pre-determine budget plans and revenue/profitability, margin, turns, square foot analysis targets; meet and exceed customer service standards; set retail pricing, markdown/return schedules and reorders; maintain inventory control; provide product knowledge and training to Selling Team and must outreach to all customer bases and partners in a liaison role.
Experience: buying or selling in a retail setting
Working knowledge of: spreadsheets and word processing software, filing systems including alphabetical, numerical and chronological; inventory control procedures and maintaining inventory records; composing a variety of business documents
Some knowledge of: interpreting and applying regulations and policies and explaining them to others; financial analysis and good mathematical skills.
Must possess: Must be detail-oriented with the ability to manage many projects simultaneously; strong customer service and communications skills as demonstrated through previous work experience; demonstrated computer skills.
Demonstrated ability to work well independently and in a team
Must: Applicants who are selected as final possible candidates must be able to pass a criminal background check.*
ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working with academic resources
Experience buying in collegiate retail market
Experience buying for multiple locations
Experience and ability to set and follow a budget
Ability and experience working with an open-to-buy system
Knowledge and experience working with POS/Inventory control system
Ability to build successful business partner relations
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
