This position is located in the Telecommunications, Wireless and Data Services Division (TWD) which provides Telecommunications Operations and Maintenance (TOM) support. TWD includes special projects, provides for the operations and maintenance of the DoS existing enterprise telecommunications network for domestic voice and data services. It also provides turnkey solutions, equipment and labor to operate and manage the DoS existing Enterprise Telecommunications network for voice and data services and to implement new technology and cost-effective enhancements to the existing domestic network.
Incumbent functions as a Voice/Data Communication Engineer with primary responsibilities in supporting voice and data functions related to telecommunications Operations and Maintenance support.

Skills Required

Minimum 4 years of hands-on Voice and Data experience at a junior level required. Strong Avaya (Red) product experience is a must. Hands-on skills to include: Aura Communication Manager, ACD call center, CMS, unified messaging, modular messaging, SIP/H.323 trunking, SIP services, G430/450, S8800, and Intuity Audix. Intermediate to expert level skills required in networking to support converged applications (voice & video) on Cisco data products. Experience with Microsoft products including Windows 2000 Server, Active Directory, and Exchange Unified Messaging would be a plus. Hands-on administration experience with Linux/Solaris is desired.
The following Avaya Certifications are desired: Avaya Certified Expert (ACE) in IP Telephony, Avaya Professional Design Specialist (APDS), Avaya Certified Implementation Specialist (ACIS), Avaya Certified Support Specialist (ACSS), Avaya Certified Solutions Architect (ACSA).
The following Cisco certifications are desired: CCNP Voice - Cisco Certified Network Professional, CCNA Voice - Cisco Certified Network Professional, CCNP - Cisco Certified Network Professional.
B.S. degree is required, but could be offset with 7 to 10+ years of progressive, hands-on, engineering experience. Candidates must be flexible as some travel may be required (10%). The ideal engineer will be able to design/implement projects, and provide Tier 3 post-implementation support.
Candidate must possess at a minimum an interim U.S. Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance as a requirement.
