Provides routine non-invasive vascular tests and assistance in the performance of advanced vascular exams. Must be able to perform basic vascular exams independently. Ability to collect data, enter computer data, knowledge of equipment and orders supplies as needed. May assist in the performance of advanced abdominal and other studies as necessary. Degree in Ultrasound preferred with some vascular scanning experience from program.
Receives orders for Vascular testing, obtains patient history and determines appropriate testing. Performs color duplex imaging procedures and arterial studies. Knowledge of exams to include, carotids, extremity venous and arterial studies.
Performs non-imaging evaluation of arteries and veins by doppler and Plethysmographic techniques. Assists in data collection for quality assurance and research programs.
Knowledge of ICAVL standards and requirements of scanning protocols. Performs other duties as assigned.
High school diploma is required. Associates Degree in Ultrasound is preferred, with at least two years of experience in an allied health occupation that is patient care related.
