COMPETENCY LEVEL JOURNEY Position located Dallas Equipment Shop and will serve as Vehicle Equipment Repair Technician Supervisor (VERTS) responsible for supervising Vehicle Equipment Repair Technicians(VERT) and other semi-skilled personnel. Responsible for creating, entering time and monitoring for accuracy all repair work orders. Other responsibilities: scheduling all 5K & annual pms and all daily equipment repairs; ensure that all repairs are correct and performed in an acceptable time; inform Area Equipment Superintendent of daily equipment repairs, ensure all parts ordered for repairs and monitor parts inventory/orders on a daily basis. Responsible for biweekly fuel and lube inventory. Supervises and maintains fuel island operation. Conduct daily/monthly safety meetings and work-site audits. Emergency callback required as needed. Employee required to furnish a complete set of mechanic tools.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies:
Ability to supervise and support employees in maintenance and repair of automotive equipment, small engines, heavy truck and construction equipment. Must be able to diagnose problems with equipment, confirm that proper repairs are being made. Identify and order all parts to complete repairs. Knowledge to prepare written reports. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Possess basic computer skills. Position requires NC Class “A” Commercial Driver’s License with "N" Endorsement, permit to be obtained in 30 days of employment and license in 90 days of employment or will be terminated. Pre-employment drug testing is required for this position. As a condition of employment, a release form (ALCDRG-01) and background statement (ALCDRG-06) must be completed and signed allowing the NCDOT to check with previous employers for the past two years about controlled substances and alcohol testing. Safety toe footwear required. Knowledge of SAP Processing PREFERRED.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalency and two years of experience in automotive or heavy equipment maintenance; or equivalent combination of training and experience. . . . .
