Veterinary Technician/Assistant/Receptionist We are looking for a career-minded, friendly, detail oriented, motivated Veterinary Technician/Assistant who is cross-trained for both positions as needed with a †can do† attitude. While education is considered, it is not required. However, documented EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED with references. Duties & Responsibilities Include: Assisting the veterinarian whenever needed and possible. Acting as the eyes ears and hands, to help provide effective and efficient medical care and service to our patients and clients.1.Must be 18 years of age or older.2.Act as a liaison between the clients and the doctor. Have the ability to educate the clients on important health issues for their pets, answer questions on therapies and medications, present treatment estimates, record medical histories, and answer client questions efficiently and within your knowledge base.3.Answer phone calls professionally and schedule appointments. Encouraging clients to come in and exceptional service to all clients at all times.4.Have basic or advanced computer skills to learn the V-Tech systems, input workfiles, estimates, history, as well as invoice completion. Should be capable of using Fax Machines, Email, Microsoft Office, and Basic Operating systems.5.Basic Animal Restraint. Ability to safely restrain an animal for all involved, so that medical procedures or exams can be conducted by the veterinarian.6.Basic Animal Care. Above average knowledge of basic animal care, ability to recognize changes in an animal†s condition, and the motivation to do an above average job at basic tasks. 7.Technical Skills: medical/surgical nursing, surgical prep/assistance, anesthesiology, radiology, in house lab, venipuncture, dental prophylaxis, microscopy, 8.Obtain relevant information and history from clients and maintain proper and complete medical records.9.Ability to follow multiple instructions accurately and efficiently when given quickly.10.A †Problem Solver.† Identify problems and offer possible solutions for those problems.11.A willingness to do whatever is needed to be done without objection.We are a small one doctor practice in Lenoir City, Tennessee, with less than 6 employees at any one time. We are on the outskirts of Knoxville, but pride ourselves with a home town feel. The 30+ year old practice was recently purchased and is starting to grow with it†s new doctor/owner. We are a small, close group, and are looking for just the right person to fill this position and part of our family.
