University Veterinary Hospital is a fun, faced paced veterinary clinic that prides itself on customer service and outstanding medicine and surgery. The hours are from 7am to 6pm for employees during Monday – Friday, Saturday hours are 7am to 1pm; and we have a rotation for working Saturday afternoons and several shifts on Sunday to walk/feed/medicate any animals in our boarding facility or hospital. There is also a rotation for holidays. **UVH does have a professional dress code/uniform of khaki pants, brown/black belt and a uniform white button down shirt. UVH does not allow scrubs to be worn at anytime. This is a very physical type career and requires appropriate physical health.
EXPERIENCED Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Assistants: Please consider the following: Lifting up to 50 pounds, handling/cleaning cat litter boxes, removal of fecal matter, laundry, dishes, scrubbing walls, floors, cages, handling and restraining cats, dogs (all sizes and breeds), and ferrets (no reptiles, birds or exotics), walking and restraining dogs, bathing animals, medicating animals (oral and injectable), all housekeeping chores for the hospital/clinic (such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, dusting, window cleaning, trash, etc.). All duties and chores are rotated among appropriately trained team members. Main duties: blood collection, monitoring surgeries, familiarity with blood machines, radiology and oral treatments/cleanings. UVH Technicians and Assistants have close contact with all of our clients and are expected to have outstanding customer service and patient care. They are the nurses who care for every patient. UVH Technicians and Assistants must be able to communicate on a medical level to clients at all times.
