Mansfield University, one of fourteen universities in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education, invites applications and nominations for the position of Vice President for Administration and Finance. Reporting to the President, the Vice President serves as the Chief Financial Officer for the university and as a member of the Executive Cabinet works collaboratively with other executives, students, faculty, staff and external stakeholders to provide visionary leadership, policy direction and management for all financial aspects of the University. Directing the University’s business operations with an annual budget of $60 million (Education & General and Auxiliary), budget and financial operations, purchasing and capital planning; coordinating financial planning and reporting systems and audit processes; providing direction and leadership for Athletics, Budget, Facilities Management and Construction, Environmental Health and Safety, Police Services, Purchasing, Controller’s Office and Student Financial Services. The Vice President will serve as the University’s representative and liaison for finance related matters with the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education, requiring travel to Harrisburg PA or other designated sites.

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements: An earned master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field from an accredited institution; extensive experience in progressively responsible leadership positions in administration and finance; and completion of a successful on-campus interview. Additional Qualifications: Extensive experience with organizational financial planning and development of budgets with sound financial projections; knowledge of current best practices in finance and accounting and familiarity with GASB; strong knowledge of construction and facilities operations; demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, supervise and evaluate staff in a variety of departments across the Division of Administration and Finance ensuring accountability for performance goals; experience leading and managing in a collective bargaining environment; active commitment to diversity and inclusion; a demonstrated understanding of critical issues in higher education; the ability to work effectively within a state system of education; ability to write and communicate clearly and accurately including strong presentation skills and the ability to convey fiscal information to non-financial groups; effective interpersonal skills; strong computer and technology skills; demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse constituencies; and demonstration through past accomplishments and behaviors, of the ability to support Mansfield University’s principles and values of Character, Scholarship, Culture and Service (http://www1.mansfield.edu/mansfield.creed) and the University’s strong student-centered vision and mission. Preferred Qualifications: An earned doctorate degree in a finance related discipline; experience in a higher education setting; and familiarity with performance assessment models. Other conditions of employment include verification of all earned degrees through the receipt of original transcripts and an acceptable background check report.
