To direct and coordinate consumer lending activities within the Credit Union, ensuring compliance with Credit Union lending policy; assist in development of lending policy; manage lending activity to meet Credit Union goals and objectives.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
20% Directs and coordinates all consumer lending activities including branch loans, call center, indirect dealer loans, credit cards and student loans.
15% Provides functional leadership and strategic direction for consumer lending program in order to meet marketplace needs, operational goals and regulatory requirements.
15% Understands and directs use of technology across all loan product channels to deliver loans in the most efficient and expeditious manner.
15% Serves as a member of the senior leadership team to provide strategic direction for both the consumer lending process as well as the broader organization.
15% Champions the consumer lending process and products and provides motivation to staff to accomplish required goals and objectives.
15% Continually analyzes the marketplace for new products or services, opportunities to enhance delivery channels, evolving pricing strategies, compliance issues and training advances.
5% Performs other job related duties as assigned.
The ability to motivate or influence others is a material part of the job, requiring a significant level of diplomacy and trust. Obtaining cooperation (internally and/or externally) is an important part of the job and a high level of interpersonal skills are critical to the success of this position. Work frequently involves contacts requiring considerable discussion of problems, material presentations, and resolving issues impacting departments or divisions. Must have excellent presentation skills for both internal and external contacts.
Must have in-depth understanding of and ability to interpret regulations affecting lending programs. Extensive knowledge of consumer lending practices and procedures. Must be adept at understanding automated decision making engines and credit scoring models. Proficient P.C. skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience: Eight to ten years similar or related experience including management of a large number of varying skill sets within division.
Education: Equivalent to a college degree (BS or BA in a relevant field).
