Principal Responsibilities: Leadership and oversight of the following functions:

Flagship Messaging and Communications Vehicles
Core message development and management; Annual report;; Fact sheets; Photo/video shoots and image management; Social media; Peabody logo management and branding; Core educational presentations

Issues Management
Rapid response activities; Trade publications; Americas regional support; Crisis communications training and implementation

Reputation Management
CEO positioning; Keynote presentation and speech preparation; Financial media relations; St. Louis media; Positive features placement; Proactive op-eds; High profile media requests; Corporate awards/submissions

Employee Communications
State of the Company meeting; Leadership Conference; Conveyor; Quarterly updates; Brown bag seminars; Employee announcements; Employee benefits/employment/compensation/HR program communications; Notes from Greg; Employee portal support; Electronic communications (videoconferences, podcasts)

Advocacy Coll
oboration Integrating messaging and products from Global Advocacy department

Social Responsibility
Writing and production assistance for internal/external CSR reports

Global Communications
Asia and trading communications management, presentations, employee communications, media relations, foreign website development and QA development; Core international presentation; External presentations for executive leadership

Other Activities
News Clips assembly/distribution; Executive biographies; Event coordination; Corporate history/archivist activities

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, public relations or related field
  • 15+ years of experience in corporate communications at the agency or corporate level (corporate experience strongly preferred)
  • Strong leadership, collaboration and technical skills
  • Experience in the resource sector a plus
