The firm is currently in search of a Vice President of Human Resources to join the team.

This is a professional position requiring a deep and broad understanding of the human resource function and the ability to independently provide human resources services to internal clients. Supervises HR staff in a team environment; p lans, coordinates, and directs professional staff recruitment activities, policy and procedure development, performance management, compensation administration and employment law and regulation compliance.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Manage the strategic direction of the firm’s human resources initiatives through planning, coordination and resource budgeting. Develop and manage the HR resource budget.

2. Interface with the firm leadership team, practice and business unit leaders, Regional Managing Partners and HR staff to ensure that the HR needs of the firm are clearly identified and met.

3. Collaborate, support and implement initiatives for improving the workplace environment from a satisfaction perspective. To include development and participation in employee and Best Places to work surveys.

4. Manage the performance management (MAP) process including compensation, rewards and performance coach development. Continually improve the system through on-going assessment of outcomes and team member satisfaction.

5. Oversee all general human resources management responsibilities including policy and procedure development, review, updates and maintenance. Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulation. Manage employment-related claims and actions (EEOC, PHRC, other state agencies); interface with EPLI carrier and legal counsel; develop severance and release agreements and negotiation of terms. Oversee FMLA administration.

6. Working with the Talent Acquisition team, oversee professional staff recruitment, including college recruiting, internship process, new hire criteria and licensing requirements (CPA, etc.).

7. Interface with the Director of L & D providing planning support and implementation assistance.

8. Collaboration with our Employee Benefits Consultant and service provider regarding the employee health and welfare plan and wellness program.

9. Consult with Regional Managing Partners, HR team and others on employee matters and sensitive human resources issues including internal complaints, policy violation, etc. Respond to inquiries through EthicsPoint.

10. Develop and maintain initiatives that create engagement of team members and enhance their professional and personal experience with the firm such as wellness programs, team member events, etc.

11. In conjunction with the Diversity Council, coordinate and manage the human resources aspects of the Diversity & Inclusion initiative.

12. Working with the marketing and communications team, assist in planning and implementing team member meetings.

13. Assist in planning and implementation of the succession management process.

14. Draft all partner, team member and leadership team communications from the human resources group.

  • Master’s degree in human resources, business administration or related field
  • SPHR certification
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in a relevant human resources position with responsibility for management of the HR function and a professional HR team, preferably in a public accounting or professional services firm
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skill and emotional intelligence, with ability to interface with team members at all levels; effective verbal and written communications skills; resiliency and ability to manage multiple priorities within a matrix management environment
  • Working knowledge of HRIS, performance management and other HR software/systems
In addition, qualified candidates must have advanced computer skills and a valid driver’s license.
