HOERBIGER Corporation of America, Inc., is seeking an
experienced Vice President of Manufacturing to be
responsible for achieving all monthly production goals
while maintaining strict compliance with product quality
standards to ISO 9001. This Leadership role is
responsible for continuous process improvement of the
manufacturing operations including the reduction of lead
times to support internal, OEM and Service business
customer expectations. Focuses on strategic allocation
of resources to attain goals. Assures proper and timely
reporting of all production-related issues, potential
problems, statistical results and progress, as well as
potential resolutions. This position will be based at
our Pompano Beach, FL Manufacturing Location.
This position manages four or more subordinate
Department Managers or Supervisors who in turn will
supervise 200+ employees at two manufacturing sites,
Pompano Beach and Houston. Responsible for the overall
direction, coordination, and evaluation of Plant
production to include all high speed precision machining
and precision injection molding operations, Facility
Management & Maintenance, Industrial Engineering,
Product Quality and Employee Health, Safety &
Environment standards the VP of Manufacturing may also
directly supervise one or more non-supervisory
The Essential Duties and Responsibilities of this
position include the following. Other duties may be
  • Develops and maintains manufacturing operation
business plans to include all program requirements,
labor hours, cycle, production costs, and image.
  • Reduction of production costs through continuous
improvement of productivity, optimal unitization of
deployed capitol.
  • Tracks and compares Key Productivity Index values to
Plan to maximize operations.
  • Plans, develops and implements capital projects.
  • Effective utilization of Shop Floor control, systems
and tools.
  • Implements and maintains Lean Manufacturing
  • Provides input to the development of product
strategy and research and development of new and
emerging products and processes.
  • Establishes production and quality control
standards, develops budget and cost controls, and
provides data regarding delivery dates of products
  • Develops a manufacturing process plan, including
personnel requirements, material needs, subcontract
requirements, facility needs, and tooling and
equipment needs.
  • Ensures all established costs, quality, and delivery
commitments are met.
  • Coordinates manufacturing activities with all other
functions of the organization to obtain optimum
production and utilization of human resources,
machines, and equipment.
  • Reviews production and operating reports and directs
the resolution of manufacturing and maintenance
problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent
production delays.
  • Performs administrative activities associated with
the effective management of shop operations,
including compiling, storing, and retrieving
production data for reports.
  • Determines responsibilities of assigned organization
and staff positions to accomplish business
  • Trains and ensures all assigned employees are aware
of and comply with company, government, and customer
policies, procedures, and regulations.

Education and/or Experience: Master's degree (M.S. or
M.B.A) or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree in Business or
alternatively Industrial Operations or Engineering, or
equivalent. Five to ten years related plant management
experience and/or training in a non-union U.S.-based
manufacturing facility; or equivalent combination of
education and experience.
Language Skills: Ability to effectively present
information and respond to questions from groups of
managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems
and deal with a variety of concrete variables in
situations where only limited standardization may exist.
Computer Skills: Prior experience in SAP ERP software;
Solid Microsoft Office Suite & Lotus Notes
Other Skills and Abilities: Extensive experience in
state of the art CAD-CAM systems, including CNC
Programing, Machining and Injection Molding operations.
Educated and trained in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing
and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
