Seeking a high-energy Manufacturing Operations professional to fill the role of Vice President of Operations. This is a key leadership position for 5
manufacturing facilities within a $130M business unit of a $1B+ company. Reporting directly to the President, this position will require a candidate with solid leadership skills and Lean experience, preferably with a Building Products,
Vinyl Windows or Insulated Glass background.
This leadership role develops and executes operational plans and strategies that result in high quality, lower cost, higher productivity, and world class operating performance.
The position will require a leader with a strong blend of both strategic and tactical approaches to operational and business objectives, leveraging background and experience to drive results via credibility, influence and leadership by example.
Responsible for manufacturing operations, enabling Plant Managers to achieve monthly and annual targets in on-time delivery, quality, labor, materials, , safety, and other key performance targets.
Participate in the development of long-term business strategies and short-term business planning. This role will translate overall company business strategy into operational goals and objectives. This role will establish key measurements and develop/implement plans to achieve targets.
Develop and implement quality control and improvement programs across all locations.
Ensure safety and environmental compliance in all operations.
Guide, develop and coach direct reports, and ensure succession plans are in place for the manufacturing organization.
Ensure proper management and control of all raw material and finished goods inventories.
Monitors and evaluates competitive products/operations to ensure costs/quality meet or exceed competitors.
Develop and implement process control and continuous process improvement initiatives across all locations.
Work closely with Finance to develop accurate lean accounting, inventory control and additional financial tools designed to support the manufacturing managers and drive decisions and actions that are cost-effective.
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Business. MBA or M.S. Advanced Degree a plus.
10+ years of increasing responsibility in manufacturing leadership roles within $100M+ businesses with multiple plants
Demonstrated experience in selecting and developing plant leadership capability
Exceptional analysis and problem solving skills
Strong people and organizational leadership
Experience in managing multiple geographically dispersed manufacturing sites
Strong financial acumen – complete understanding of operating costs and P+L measures.
Demonstrated experience in aligning customer needs with manufacturing capabilities.
Ability to travel at least 30%
