Department Description: The Publicity Department works to maximize media coverage and, in turn, raise the overall profile of the artists on Atlantic and its affiliates. This is accomplished not only by utilizing established avenues, but, perhaps more importantly, through discovering and developing new outlets to increase our artists’ visibility to the consumer. In addition, the department is responsible for maintaining up to date photos and bios on all active artists, drafting and issuing official media releases to the media and the company, the planning and execution of special events, interaction with and planning for certain industry awards and award shows, and the purchasing of all artist birthday gifts.

High Level Job Description :
To develop and executive national press campaigns which maximize our artists’ profile and overall visibility through coverage in print, electronic and online media.

Detailed Job Description/ Responsibilities :
Responsible for handling all aspects of media relations for artists on the label and its affiliates, including but not limited to television, print media, and online media.

Responsible for the artists’ imaging, including styling and media training.

Forecast and maintain artist budgets in order to operate in a cost effective manner

Create individually tailored press plans for artists on the label and its affiliates

Oversee the regional/local press aspect of the overall campaign, including the staff executing that outreach.

Work in concert with digital marketing to develop and maintain visibility for our artists online, including websites, webzines, and blogs.

Coordinate the drafting and distribution of all informational and visual materials, including press releases, bios, and press photos.

Organize, plan, and produce special events for artists, including album release parties, platinum/gold certification parties, and artists showcases among others.

Work to develop and maintain close relationships with key members of the media.

Think creatively to develop unique and interesting angles for pitching our artists

Look to establish new avenues of media exposure for our artists

Play a key role in crisis management and spin control

Communicate effectively between label staff, artist management, and artists in varying and complex situations

Represent the company at industry events

Organize artist travel for media appearances

Coordinate all media for red carpet arrivals, event press, and award shows.
