The visual communications designer works collaboratively with Teague strategists and creative teams on projects that integrate research, industrial design, and interaction design. Specifically, the visual communications designer leads the development of branded touch points including packaging, user interfaces, retail concepts, environmental design, and more.
Why We Need This Position:
Today, branding is a lot more about doing than talking. We believe innovation happens through great products, services, and experiences-not ads or brochures. Making things is where brand design matters most, which is why you need to be here with us. Speaking of you . . .
Who We're Looking For:
You're an experienced designer with at least three years in an agency who's very adept with visual systems for doing-e.g., wayfinding, out-of-box experience, visualizing data, etc. You love great brand identities and typography like any other designer, but you're even more compelled to make something that goes beyond just color and shape. That makes you interested in blurring the lines between disciplines, and collaborating with both industrial and interaction designers to think and re-think something from the start. You don't manage designers-you are the designer. You're a self-starter who's comfortable with a fast-moving approach and enjoys solving complex problems. You're fun to be around, at least most of the time. You think today is always the best opportunity to change the world through design. Sound like you?
What We Just Said, Now in 5 Bullet Points (a.k.a., Essential Qualifications):
Experience: 3+ years in a design firm and/or advertising agency
Special skills: Expert at visual systems, especially within packaging and data visualization
Passion: Compelled to make something collaboratively
Role: Veteran doer; when pen is put to paper, the pen is in your hand
Personality: Smart, personable, wired to solve complexities, inspired to make it happen
