Resolvit IT & Management Consulting (Resolvit) is looking for a Voice / Data Communications Engineer to work as full-time Resolvit employee. The candidate will be responsible for the following:

Provide expertise on multiple complex work assignments in support of the 600+ site DHS/ICE enterprise Voice Communications and Network environments. The Voice / Data Communications Engineer may specialize in either Voice or Network communications, but requires knowledge of both areas. Deployments include new installations, equipment upgrades, equipment relocations etc. Work as a member of the ICE OCIO team to implement and monitor installations of hardware and software; desktop telephones, VoIP servers, analog voice systems, specialized equipment (e.g., STE, modems, and fingerprint scanners), desktops computers, laptops, servers, networks/ LANS, voice systems, cabling, etc. Contribute to deliverables and performance metrics.

Possess and apply knowledge of the ICE Voice Communications and Network environments

Complete quality assurance review and documentation when systems are installed by communications vendors

Voice Specialty

Cross-connect wiring

Perform installation and relocation requests in accordance with ICE move/add/change processes and procedures

Use Government-furnished remote management tools

Administer local ICE communications applications

Perform all required back up and restoration functions for data residing on ICE voice communications systems

Maintain Private Branch Exchange (PBX) systems from Avaya/Nortel

Maintain emerging systems such as VoIP

Provide programming and maintenance on the voice switch, voice mail system, auto attendant systems, call management system, and traffic monitoring system

Train end-users on the operation and use of telecommunication features

Provide voice communications system designs with statement of work, bill of materials and cost estimate

Network Specialty

Perform hardware and software installations

Install and test new end-user computers, network printers, external hard drives, fax servers, document scanners and other peripheral equipment, as well as operating systems software

Ensure access to government mainframe computers

Document network configurations and inventories

Minimum Requirements:
2+ years of related experience on a wide variety of servers, desktops and networking and telecommunications technologies, protocols, equipment, concepts, architectures and trade studies

Ability to troubleshoot network incidents and provide a resolution report to management and/or customer

Ability to document solutions with MS Office products: specifically Word, Excel, Visio, and Project

Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with management and peers

Create and maintain SOPs.

Develop processes, procedures, and documentation required for activity administration

Voice Communications Specialty

General knowledge of various voice communications systems

Proficient with design and configuration of VoIP phone systems

Experience in designing and deploying Avaya and Nortel communications systems

Network Specialty

Proficiency with workstations, printers, and major applications

Proficiency with network equipment or servers

Possess comprehensive knowledge in Network Engineering (CCNA, CCNP, DNS/DHCP, Firewall, VLAN, SAN, etc.) or Systems Engineering (Active Directory, MS Exchange, MCSE, SharePoint, etc.) track

Proficient with Cisco Switching, Multi Path high availability, GLBP, HSRP, QoS, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), WLAN, Prefix Lists, NAT, PAT, MPLS, VoIP, video, IDS/IPS, NAC and firewalls.

Experience in various Windows OS versions, along with AD/ Exchange

Ability to develop and execute address plans for IPv4, IPv6 and ITU E.164

Preferred Requirements:
Network / Voice Specialty

Avaya VoIP System Certification





Experience in using network design tools

Experience in Cisco works and QoS Policy manager

Experience in using third party management tools ie BigFix, HP Openview and etc.

Experience in Network statics collectors and analyzer tools

Travel Requirements : 75%

Other Requirements:
Clearance : DHS Public Trust or Secret
Citizenship : Authorized to work in U.S.
