Essential Functions:

The purpose of this position is to perform various assignments in the capacity of a volunteer for Collier County Domestic Animal Services. Each particular assignment will require a different skill set and additional training may be required. All volunteers are required to attend a volunteer orientation before they begin. The following duties may be assigned: Front Lobby Greeter, Dog Walker, Cat Socializer, Clerical Assistant, Dog Bathing/Grooming, Fundraising, Special Events Coordinator, Community Outreach Program, Happy Tails TV show, Disaster Animal Response Team (DART). Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Fingerprinting and/or other background checks may be required based on assignment. Prior to operating a County vehicle, a volunteer must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license and undergo a DMV check. Other qualifications/certifications may be required depending on assignment. Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or work station. Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate sounds, texture, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
